Dr. Yatco (Surgeon) Has anyone used him?

I am trying to get some more information on having surgery done at Vahalla Medical Hospital and have been told that Dr. Edward Yatco and Dr. Cerbona and Dr. Kaul are good doctors to have surgery with. I live in Wappingers Falls, NY and would like to know if anyone has any information on them

Hi Patricia... I am 11 days post op and my doctor is Dr. Kaul.....He is by far the *******l 3 doctors are WONDERFUL! If I have any questions at anytime I can call them.....they will tell you that personally--post-op patients. The office staff is a little different...they are very busy..so if you call there just be patient..they will even tell you that you need to be patient. Tanya- Thanks for your reply and congrats on the surgery. I am just starting to investigate and hopefully can convince my PCP that this is the way I want to go ( he isn't very entralled with the idea). Hi Anne I was at the seminar yesterday. I thought it was great. I live in Albany and will be traveling all the way down there for my surgery. After the seminar, I went in and made my preop appointment for Sept. 13. MY sister had her surgery there a little over a month ago. She has lost 30 pounds. It tooks her 6 weeks from start to finish. Any, Dr. Kaul is her doctor and he is who I am seeing. Good luck, hopefully things will work out. My pcp wasn't happy about it, but I came very researched and prepaired and she said OK! Carolyn

Carolyn, Thanks for the encouragement. I have been very excited with all the info I have gotten about Dr. Yatco and his group. I am putting all my research together so that when I go to see my pcp in about two weeks I can get him to agree to this. Can you tell me how often they have the seminars? I would like to have one scheduled when I go into the dr's so that he will understand how serious I am. Thanks again. Anne

Hiya Patricia, Dr. Cerabona performed my surgery but I have had dealings with Dr. Yatco and Dr. Kaul as well and they are all wonderful. I kept on top of the office staff (translation: annoyed them constantly!!) but it was worth it as I had no issues. I suggest you do get and keep copies of all primary care dr notes and letters and also of all the conuslts. It never hurts to be prepared!! Sorry Patricia, I called you Anne. Anyway, I believe the seminars are monthly. Just call the office and ask when the next seminar is. The seminar is great because they wil give you info to help in writing the letter to the insurance co. I have a great feeling about this group. The surgeons up here(Albany) are 1) not as experienced and 2)make you jump thorugh a bunch of hoops. Good Luck.

Don't worry about calling me Anne. My full name is Patricia Anne and I go by Anne most of the time, however for "legal" stuff I use Patricia Anne. I probably answered you using the name Anne. Anyway Thanks for the support. A friend of mine who used Dr. Yatco, brought me a copy of their handbook and it was great for getting the information. It was written in "english" not medicalese and my family all read itt and learned alot. I am still waiting for my PCP to agree with me about the surgery so I am impatiently waitinfg for another visit to him. Wish me luck.
