Hair Question
Unfortunately, Karrie is the exception to the rule. Most of us experience hair loss. It isn't life threatening, you won't go bald and it does grow back. To strengthen your hair, you take Biotin and you use a Biotin shampoo. However, it will not keep the hair from falling out, if you are predisposed to having it happen. Don't let it scare you. I have always had a great head of hair, and I lost lots of hair, but now have a great head of hair again.

Hi Pattie!
I too was very worried about this issue going in but my doctors office assured me that if I did as I was told all would be well...I didn't lose much hair at all... In fact before I had surgery I was getting thin on the top of my head... I am happy to say it's growing back in and is getting thicker now... Just be sure to take your vitamins and you can also use the biotin products that were mentioned as well... I didn't do anything different other than eat as I was supposed to and take vitamins and I've been fine... Not everyone will lose lots of hair although some do... Try not to worry because if you do lose some, you'll soon see regrowth...

I had the RNY gastric bypass in early feb 05, and I just recently hit the time where I'm losing hair. It seems like a lot when it comes off in your hands when you run your fingers through it, but I have thick hair as well. I'm about 6 weeks into the hair loss and it's not been that bad. And I was assured it would grow back. Stick with your vitamins!*L*
