I have not reached the point to saying yes to surgery. I am on the South Beach Diet.I don't mind the diet but I need some encouragement. I have been hearing about the liquid diets. Are they used only for people who are having the surgery? I would like to know how I find out about this diet. Do I go through my own Doctor or are their special centers? I have many health concerns, but my knees hurt so bad I have got to get some weight off. A pound or two a week is a long long haul.

Hey Janet Take a look at medifast.com. Don't know much about it but I thought briefly about doing it before surgery. Good Luck Tina

Janet, Seems some Dr's make you lose some weight before surgery so they use the liquid diets in that way but you might want to check with a Nutrionist and they might be able to help you with a liquid diet.... I wish you all the best in what every you do hun ~Hugs~ Take your time, study and read all you can so you will be ready, if wanted. Debra P 285/233/125??

Hi Janet, I did a liqued diet called Medi-fast for 6 weeks prior to my surgery. I got mine through my WLS doc's office but you can order it on medifast.com I'm sure. It works!!! Karry
