Anyone here from Yonkers area?
Hey there, dear Angel!! How'ya doin'?
I guess I didn't quite read your post above...teehee...
I'm doing really good. Except for one incision which still bothers a little, especially the area above it which is pretty swollen. I'm thinking about calling my doc if it doesn't get better by Sunday night. I'm down to 251 lbs and feeling great! I'm almost ready to move on to the exercise stage, but the doc said three more weeks before he gives me the green light to workout. And, I'm seeing my PCP tomorrow for the first post-op blood work.
Hope you've had a nice week so far...wish you a wonderful weekend!
Take care,
Love and blessings {hugs}
Dolly
Hi Joanne:
So Joanne, how have you done with your 20+ months post opp? Have you lost a lot of weight? Who was your surgeon if you don't mind my asking. My surgeon will be Dr. Miguel Silva. My tentative date is still 10-19 but the surgeon's office hasn't even sent off for the approval
I'm anxious to go to the next support group meeting. Please let me know when and where it is. I'd like to meet people from this area who have gone through this or are getting ready as I am.
Thanks for your reply.
Melody in Yonkers
Hi Melody,
I'm doing great. I've lost 147 lbs. since my surgery. Still have about 40 lbs. to go, so I really have to get back into my exercising. {Right Dolly??} My surgeon was Dr. Larry Gellman and my surgery was at St. Francis Hospital in Roslyn.
Dolly and I have been trying to get together so we can workout at the gym in my apartment building.
The next support group meeting is this Thursday, 9/15, at 7PM. It's at St. John's Riverside Hospital in the conference room on the main floor.
Hope to see you there!!
Joanne
Hi Melody!! WELCOME TO THE AMOS/OH FAMILY!!!
Nice to meet you.
I'm in Yonkers and just 11 days post-op. Please feel free to email me if you need any help or if you just want to chat. Also, for your information, there is a support group that meets the third Thurdasy of each month at St. John's Hosp. The next meeting is next Thursday (I believe). You may want to attend. It's very informative and a lot of fun, also it's nice to meet in person with people that are either going through the process at the time or that have already had their surgeries.
Again, if you need any help, email me.
Hope you have a wonderful weekend!
Take care and god bless.
Dolly
