Hello Everyone! My name is Daniel and I just recently had the lap-band done with Dr. Fielding at the NYU Center for Surgical Weight Loss! I have come a long way on this journey already. I have had my surgery done on July, 25! I was on channel 7 news, they interviewed me and Dr. Fielding. The purpose for the interview was because as we all know, not to many teens have had the lap-band surgery! Well enough about that. I have a question, Right now I am in the puree stage and I find myself eating more than I thought I would be eating! Is it because I streched my pouch? This is worrying me. For example today I ate a whole can of tuna fish with mayo for lunch at 1:30. Then at around 5:00 I ate a salad bowl full of puree eggs, Later in the evening at around 9:00 I was really hungry. I was so hungry that I was in pain! So I had the same thing again (the salad bowl full of eggs). I wonder if this is normal! If anyone knows if it is please tell me. I really hope I didnt strech my pouch! Daniel

Daniel, Hun congrats on your TV stardom... I do not know much about the lap band but I would tell you to talk to your surgeon about it. He/She would know! I wish you the best... ~Hugs~ Debra P 285/235/125??

Hi Daniel, I am in the same boat as you...my surgery was a few days before. I also feel no restriction. Have you had a 2 week follow-up with your surgeon? My surgeon told me I wouldn't feel much restriction right now because the band is empty. You can go for your first fill 6 wks after surgery. So I guess basically we are on our own until then. Hop on over to the Lapband message board...there are a lot of experienced lapbanders who can help answer questions. Best of luck to you in your journey! Dee

HEy i saw your storey on the news!!!! HOW NEAT.... anyway i wouldnt worry just yet as you havent had your band filled and from what i hear from the patients at my surgeons office when you get the fills you will get the "FULL" thing kicking in more. RELAX and take it one step at a time! ALl will come off in time. LISA

Hi Daniel, I also saw your story on the news. I had gastric bypass but from what I understand you don't have the restriction right away you do have to wait for a fill. And I wouldn't worry about streching your stomach since you didn't not have it cut, with the band they put a silcone ring around the top part of your stomach to restrict the food flow and intake. Just make sure you make the right food choices and definately follow up with your surgeons office they are the experts good luck. Elizabeth

Hi Daniel, I would just make sure doctor fielding looks at your band to make sure it didn't slip. I was at dr fieldings office 2 weeks ago for a consult with him and he forgot that I had an appointment with him and left. I had come from suffolk county long island and paid a baby sitter to watch my 1 year old babies, so needless to say I was VERY pissed off and descided I didnt want him to do the surgery. But all that said, While I was waiting in the waiting room a long time for nothing, I was talking to a girl who had just had the surgery 6 weeks prior and she was disappointed that she had only lost 10 pounds and felt exactly like you do. but she had not gone to get her fill yet. Did you know that there are 2 different size bands? I didn't until last tuesday the surgeon I decided to go with told me. One of them hold 4cc's of fluid and the other one is 1 centemeter larger and holds 10cc's of fluid. My guess is that you have the larger one and it requires a few fills before you feel full. that seems to be the way they do it in that office but be patient. you will eventually feel full and at least you are loading up on protein so you cant do much damage. Hang in the. you will do just fine. Laurie C
