I'm a little concerned...

I just had my surgery on Aug 5th, came home on Sunday afternoon. Today was my first full day home... This is what I consumed: 630am-2oz of protein drink 745am-2oz Biomega liquid vitamins(it kinda tastes like a fruit drink) 930am-2oz of beef broth between 1100am and 245pm i wasnt feeling so well..i felt really full and it felt like it was in my chest...very uncomfortable 300pm-3oz sf jello 515pm-1oz of beef broth 600pm-i had a couple of sips (barely an oz) of carnation instant breakfast drink 900pm 3oz of sf jello Throughout the whole day I also sipped on water..I would say I drank about 24oz-30oz. I am having a bit of cramping in my stomach...kinda like alot of gurgling...Im in no pain....I walked around the house as well today to get my exercise... I would really like it if someone that is POST OP could let me know if this is ALL normal? I was thinking that maybe I am not eating slow enough and that is why i have all the gurgling and gas--both burps & farts.... I am peeing and I did have one watery bowel movement...Im assumming that is normal though. Any advice would be greatly appreciated Thanks Tanya

Tanya, Hello hun ~Hugs~ Congrats on your surgery... All looks normal to me, as I have read and my own experiance. If you are concerned about anything hun just call your surgeon, that is what they are there for. I still burp more then I had before, kind of silly but it lets me know when my pouch is full. I had gurgling and cramping- I still have cramping. It is gas and the fluid and bowl contents moving around. I never had gas before so this was all so funny to my husband and kids who heard me belch loudly over the table! It even shocked me! Especially when it came form the other end. So my MD tells me that it is on its way out and becasue our eating habits are so different (than before) and becuase we have more fluid and a new stomach with different 'valves' (so to speak) we have different plumbing. I get painful gas cramps at times. I try to go the bathroom - you are lucky for the watery bowel movement- I was sooo constipated... - Deb P told you to call your MD if you are scared- I would also advise the same. But I was gassy alsoand everyone could hear the sounds my stomach was making in addition to the burps and farts! It is better now. Dawna

Thanks Dawna! A funny thing happen last night...My husband has always made me feel comfortable if i ever needed to "fart" in front of him, telling me that dont worry it doesnt bother him...well last night I had to and let me tell ya it was a long one! He looked at me with a shocked look and then he couldnt stop laughing for about 15 minutes....He said i could beat any guy in a farting contest...we laughed all night about that!

Oh boy thank you for that glad to know I wasn't alone with passing gas if front of my hubby, I couldn't help but laugh sorry but it sounds funny.. Ok my stomach made and makes loud noises that it is embarrassing sometimes....but what are you gonna do it's part of our journey... you sound very normal to me, but if you feel anything more or you are nervous do not hesitate to call you surgeon's office, you can never take a chance, better to bother him/her than for something serious to be wrong....
