Hello my AMOS family ~Hugs~ I just wanted to check in and see how everyone is doing today? Let us all know or just say hello. This board is so slow lately, I guess so many are on vacation or just out enjoying themselves. Hey all you lurkers, post a hello as well. I see you. QUESTION: What is the single most missed food after surgery? or if your still pre-op then what is the food that you think you will miss the most. For me it is caffein Free Diet Coke, I can not say I will not try it again but right now I am to nervous too and I am hoping I will not enjoy it like I did in the past. Even when I hear a can open it makes me sigh. Post if ya want to to let us know.... Take care Debra P 285/239/125??

Good Morning Deb I am doing great!! I am just waiting to go to the doctor this afternoon. The board is very slow lately!!! Where are you????? I am too early to miss anything I guess. My surgeon has told me to never drink carbonated beverages or refined sugars again. I am lucky in that I rarely drank soda. The carbonated beverages stretch the pouch and it will not shrink once stretched. Actually, I don't miss anything right now. I have not even been hungry at all. I look forward to being able to eat pasta eventually, but that is all. Keeping you in my thoughts and prayers. {{{{{HUGS}}}}} Brenda

Brenda, Hello hun.. ~Hugs~ Yes you have to post and let us know how you did. I am sure awesome... Yes my surgeon told me to stay away from it FOREVER but well I know me and I will try some later on in my journey, I have heard so much about that it can NOT stretch that pouch that it is a myth but I am not sure so I am hanging low for now. Well thanks for posting hun... ~Hugs~ Good luck at the Dr's.... Debra P

Debra Hun, I am determined to not "try" carbonated beverages, candy or any other refined sugar as I do not want to take the chance of "screwing" up what I just went through. I know the pouch CAN be stretched as my sister had the surgery years ago and could not give up her Pepsi and she ended up "out eating" the pouch. Today, she weighs over 300 pounds at 5' 2", has diabetes, heart problems, bad sleep apnea, high blood pressure and I am sure more problems of which I am not aware. I figure God gave me a second chance to live a healthy life and that is what I am determined to do with my new "tool" - pouchie!!!!! Keeping you in my thoughts and prayers. {{{{{HUGS}}}}}} Brenda

Good Morning Debra, Glad you are doing well. Its been a long time for me since I posted, its been a crazy summer for me! I have to say I do not miss anything, I can eat almost all the foods I enjoy. I tried Diet Soda, just a few sips but it makes my pouch feel like a ball of gas. So I avoid carbonated drinks. Hope you have a great day! 238/183/140

Sweetie, Good to see you posting hun.. ~Hugs~ Yeah the summer can get crazy for so many. I have been trying most foods as well and that is why the only thing I am craving is something that I should not have. So many people said the same thing, they had pain and it took away that enjoyment they used to get out of it. I am hoping I am sip some but I do not want to enjoy it like it did, if that makes sense?.... Good to see ya again hun ~hugs~ Debra P

Zulema, Hello hun.. ~hugs~ Yes your day is fast approaching... I thought I would miss ice cream because I used to have it every day but it really has not been bad, I am waiting to try the f/f, s/f ice creams until further down the line but at least I know I can have it someday, just not the regular stuff. Congrats on your weight loss hun. that is a great way to start. Take care Debra P

Lisa, Yes I have been tolerating most of my foods as well and your right, it sure makes things nicer. The smaller amounts still blows my mind though, I would never think I would be ok with that. Yes it is another hot one today and thank goodness we have A/C at work because I do not have them in at home, landlord said it was ok but we do not want to do it just yet since we just moved in. Take care hun and thanks for posting. ~Hugs~ Debra P
