CAN'T STOP EATING!!!
It's as if there is a worm or something in my stomach eating everything I take in that has me running to the pantry, fridge, cupboards...you name it, looking for something to eat. Granted, I've been keeping rather healthy foods around, but if you are constantly eating these foods they're no longer healthy as the calories and carbs rack up. Anyone else 1+ years post-op and eating out of control? Always hungry?
That happens from time to time and I know it is difficult not to give in. I try to have a glass of water or a flavored water that has no calories in it. It fills the tummy and fools it into thinking it doesn't need any food. And sometimes, that's all it is. I never ever ever want to gain any weight back ~ and food all the time, even good stuff, is the quickest road to Fat City I can think of, so I work constantly not to graze.
Good luck, Candie.
Very good advice.
I've found that my peaks in appetite seem to be regulated by the whole monthly hormonal thing... yeah yeah... PMS. Pay attention to when you feel so hungry, keep track, and you may find that it's the same with you. If so, you just have to struggle through that hungry week or so, knowing that it's a cycle you will get through. Use the little tricks suggested above, or when you feel hungry, redirect your energy to some other activity that will keep you busy for a good while, not thinking about food.
It can be hard to put mind over matter, but it's definitely not impossible.
