Hello all. I just got the invitation to my niece's wedding, which will be held when I am about 2 months post op. I have to make a meal choice....choices are prime rib, eggplant rollatini, stuffed shrimp and chicken franchese. Any suggestions on what would be easiest????? Thanks. sH

Hi S H! For me, at 2 months out, my best bet would be to get the chicken. I am just starting to tolerate beef at almost 10 months post, eggplant wouldn't be enough protein, and I don't do fish (although shrimp may be a good option for you if you like it now & can tolerate it then). Good luck! Claudia -130 lbs @ 9.5 months

THANKS...........I knew the eggplant would not be enough protein, but thought it would be the softest and easiest to chew.........and I love it soooooooooooo...LOL. I figured I wouldn't be able to eat it all anyway...

Hi, I would certainly consider the chicken franchese, which would give you alot more protein. Just don't eat too much of the dressing on it. Protein is always the most important thing.

Thanks Carmen.....I was going to go with the Eggplant cause I thought it would be the softest.....I will try the chicken I guess....and probably not eat anything.....LOL.

I had easy tolerance for shrimp and for chicken at that stage. The important thing is, if the shrimp is stuffed with breading, just scoop that to the side and eat the shrimp first. Find out if it is FRIED - because if it is fried, it could cause dumping. Not fun. The chicken probably is an excellent choice and you can freeze what you don't eat for a later time. Good luck!

I would suggest the stuffed shrimp as a sure bet ... I had a DS (not the RNY) and even at 8 months out, chicken doesn't always sit right (too dense) ... If you polled most RNYers about white meat chicken, they would be likely to tell you it sometimes poses a problem for them ... Oddly enough I do fine with beef but I have been able to count on shrimp since I was like a week out of surgery ... My believe is it would be the safest (least dense) and contain enough protein versus the eggplant. But, of course, that is JMHO! In any case ... Enjoy!
