All Set To Go and NO Liquid Diet For Me!!!

Here's the latest news on me... although it was a long day, it was a very VERY good one... I'm all set to go!! Today, I went with DH to my final meeting with my surgeon. Everything went well, we went over the procedure and the best part, the doctor weighed me and I lost 8 pounds since we first time we met YAYAY...so NO LIQUID DIET FOR ME!!! phew, what a relief! I really wasn't looking forward to that part of the process So, I'm only required to not drink or eat anything after midnight the night prior (Sunday 7/31). Regardless, I have already started to decrease my food intake and sort of getting ready for what's ahead. We then went to White Plains Hospital, where they did all the final pre-op tests: blood work, ekg, and chest xray. So, I'm officially done with all my pre-admission testing. I have to report at the hospital at 6:30 am on Monday 8/1 and my surgery is schedule for 7:30 AM. My doc said, be on time and we'll get you in on time! Knowing I will probably get very little sleep the night before, we'll probably be at the hospital way before 6:30 Afterwards, we went to the pulmonologist so that we can get my DH started on his process in hopes for his December WLS. Now we know, from my own experience, that the pulmonologist clearance (including all the tests and the sleep studies) takes the longest--2-1/2 months in my case) I am SOOOO EXCITED!!! I can't believe I have less than 6 days to go and hubby agreed to start his process...WOOHHOOOO!!! Thank you all for your support, prayers and good wishes!! God Bless! Dolly

See you on the other side 4 days after I make it there. I start my clear liquids tomorrow until midnight then nothing until after the "leak test". Yay Dolly!!! You'll be on the losing side soon. I'm so glad to hear that Joe has started the process. At least you know for sure that your insurance is covering WLS this year. You never know what could happen next year. Call me if you need to talk or have any questions. Joanne
