Two weeks post-sx
Hi y'all.
Just wanted to post that I'm two weeks post-surgery today and down 14 lbs. (23 if you count the 9 I lost before surgery). I'm starting to see a difference.
Had a great weekend. Went to my little sister's 40th surprise party in Albany. My big sister and I stayed in a luxury hotel for 2 nights and just relaxed. It was great, and the food was no problem. Waiters and waitresses shake their heads when I order one little thing and don't fini**** My sister, who's on weigh****chers and so eats a large quantity of food, thinks it's hysterical. She's got all this food and I'm picking at some little bowl of something.
Anyway, it's great to feel so NORMAL. I still have a big problem with gas pains, which people tell me is normal, but I've developed a schedule of eating and drinking for myself that is working out great. I'm getting between 50-65 ounces of water in a day and 3-4 "meals". Plus all my vitamins. Of course I'm getting up at 4 am to get it all in (only kidding).
The one problem I'm having is a SEVERE gas pain in the early afternoon. It happens way after I've eaten and when I'm just sipping water. My Dr. doesn't seem concerned. It usually only happens once a day and it seems to come around that time. Anyone ever get anything like that?
Overall, I feel great! Thanks again to all of you for your support.
Suzanne
Hi Suzanne,
Wow...you are doing great, 2 weeks post-op and getting around so well....I know what you mean about the waiters looking at you...the other day I ordered a side of mashed potatoes, and she just looked at me...oh well!!!!!
I took gas x for the first 4 weeks pretty regularly, and now I dont have any problem at all, but the pain at first was pretty bad....I would take 2 gas x's every 6 hours and it seemed to work.
