Hernia Question?
I have this pain on the left side that won't go away all day today and I feel like I have gotten it before but today it won't go away. I am wondering if maybe it's a hernia since i do lifting at my job. What is the test they do to determine this and can i go to my primary care physician to be looked at and checked out. She will probally be able to take me today but if I have to go to my surgeon I dont' know when I will be able to go so any imput would be great thanks again.
Love, Elizabeth
P.S. I know hernia's are extremely common among Bypass patients so I'm sure I don't have to worry but I would still like to get checked!!
Dear Liz,
Hi -- I've already had one laprascopic hernia surgery, 1 emergency hernia surgery and now have my 3rd & 4th hernia -- which I'm trying to coordinate having repaired along with wls surgery. I got mine beginning with my 2 c-sections. Anyway all that to say -- I wouldn't necessarily say a pain on your left or even right side could be a hernia -- but if that's the site that the hernia occurs then it could be. You are better off going to your PCP to have them check it out and if it is a hernia -- they will forward you to a specialist. I hope this was somewhat helpful and I wish you good luck.
Love
Debbie
