Helllo All, ~hugs~
I hope you all had a great weekend, mine was relaxing and we got to ride the motorcycle so that is all good. Post and let us know how you are doing? I myself need some advice from my AMOS family. I know others have posted this and I think I know the answer but damn it is so frustrating when you are going through it! The dreaded non moving scale!!! OK I know I should not weight myself every day and I try not to BUT I also noted that I only lost 2 lbs in 2 weeks....grrrrrrr. That is so frustrating.
I have been getting in my 40-60 grams of protein per my surgeon a day, just reaching my 64oz a day in water/crystal light and taking all my vitamins! I am getting about 450-675 calories a day! Also walking 5 times a week for 1/2 mile on my treadmill. I am seeing some movement in my measurements thought I did not take them before I started but can tell by my clothes. OK now I feel a little better saying it out loud, I try not to let it bother me but it sometimes does.
OK if you have any advice please post or just to say hello is great too. ~hugs~

Good Monday Morning to you! I am still pre-op, but my suggestion is for you to get rid of the scale. I do not own a scale and I don't want one.
Are you on the soft/pureed foods or regular foods? According to the Barbara Thompson book, your calorie level should be 600-800 per day at the soft/pureed stage. At the regular food stage, you should consume 800-1000 calories per day. Of course, your surgeon's orders may be different.
As to my weekend, it was great as it was quiet and relaxing. Now, how am i doiing?? I am doing fantastic!! I have 3 more days until I am on the losing side and I can hardly wait!! I am not nervous at all.
Keeping you in my thoughts and prayers.

Brenda,
Hun thanks for the post, you know I started off without the damn scale but as I was 3 weeks out I wanted to see it move so I went and purchased one! I said I would NOT and I did... and now I feel like I need the damn thing. Well I might just have hubby hide it some where for a while....
Yeah I am not sure how much I should be eating and I guess I will email my surgeon, now when I went in on the 14th and the PA took a look at my paperwork I wish she would have said something if I was not eating enough. I just don't know how to get more in!!! Grrrrrr....I will try the 1000 if I can.....
Thanks hun. ~Hugs~ Yes you are sooooo close...
Well take care
Debra P
I am sorry that the scale hasn't moved. That is why i ONLY get weighed at the doctors office and do not have a scale @ home.. I agree with Debra i thought your cal should be higher then what they are. Your body might not be loosing because its not getting enough to eat. Check with ur doctor..

Kristen,
Yeah I will try and increase my calories but it is so hard to eat more then I am now... Wow I never could understand that when I was pre-op... I never had problems eating calories...
Well take care and thanks

Hi Deb,
I hear ya... weighing yourself every day is hard not to when you have a scale in the house... but I made a promise to myself not to do it.. cause it was depressing me. Sooooo now.. I weigh myself like every 3-4 days.. just to keep in check... also something that my surgeon told me.. your body will have many many plateau's as because of the rapid weight loss your body has to catch up. I also agree with the others that your not taking in enough calories...I know it's not easy but you should try to increase the calories a bit. I know I don't use any "fat free" products.. mostly because I don't like them.. I try to use the reduced ones or
regular ones. I didn't lose much for 2 weeks.. and them bam... like 10 lbs came off.. it was really strange.. so hang on for the ride.. its gonna come off... your doing amazing amazing amazing!
Many Hugs!

Marla,
Hun thank you so much for the support. ~hugs~ I know that it will come off and it is strange because I tell others the same thing but when it is YOU, it sucks.. Yeah I think I will try and weigh myself once a week, make it like a weigh in with my hubby. Yes I will try and increas the calories, it is very hard since I am now eating breakfast, lunch and dinner with 2 snacks during the day! Never thought I would have this problem...
Well thanks again hun ~hugs~

Hi Debra,
Sorry your scale is not moving but you are seeing the inches come off so THAT's great! I am trying to forget about the scale although I weighed myself today, first time since the surgery 5 days ago. I've lost 21 lbs total since the pre-op liquid diet.
I am really having a hard time with the liquid protein (Medifast) drink. I don't know how I can continue drinking it. Its really gross to me. I also cannot use the liquid Centrum (the smell is horrid!!!). I know I need my proteins. Maybe I can find something else. Any suggestions?
Other than that, I am doing really well. Taking a few days off from work to re-coup and rest. I don't think I could tolerate the long commute and stress going into NYC so soon.
Have a good day all!

Dee,
Wow that weight loss is awesome hun.. You are going to do so good. Yeah I will try really hard to NOT weigh myself everyday! I will do it Monday mornings with hubby so this way I will not drive myself crazy.
You have to use the Medifast or can you use something other? I found that Zero Carb Isopure (chocolate) is awesome, I put it in my vanilla yogurt but it is also good in milk. GNC carries it, maybe they have samples as well but I am not sure. I also take the chewable centrum and they taste ok, orange flavor. I take 2 of them a day, one in the morning and one more with dinner. Are you on full liquids now or puree food? I am not sure with the lap band.
Well I am glad to hear you are doing well ~hugs~
