Still in search of...

An open support group in Upstate NY. This could mean Gouvenor, Watertown, Carthage, Syracuse, Pulaski, Rome, Lowville, Philadelphia, Utica, Oneida....or anywhere in between. When I first moved to NY a year ago, I looked but all I've come up with are groups that are specific to one surgeon or one surgery group. My surgery was in Alabama but I feel I still need a support group, I miss it actually, and am desperate to find one within driving distance that accepts new members regardless of who their surgeon was or is. Can ANYONE out there point me in the right direction? Are there any groups? I'd be stunned to find out there aren't any... and if there are none in this area, are there others looking for a group here in this region who might be interested in starting their own group? Please respond =(

Hi Mary, We have a support group here in Camden. We meet the second Wednesday of the month at Oneida Savings Bank Community Room. In August we will hold two meetings Aug 3, and Aug 10. You are welcome to attend our group. Although most of our members are patients at University Hospital, we do have people from Utica and even some who have had their surgery in Albany. Please feel free to email me and I will send you my phone number. Debra

Thank you very much for the information. I've emailed you both, requesting more details about your support groups. When you get a moment, please respond and send me times/directions/etc. Thanks again! Mary
