Just getting started at upstate

Hi my Name is Dwight, and i'm just getting started with everything. After 2 months i just had my first visit with Dr. Cunningham and Unavirsty Hospital(Upstate) it was good, i told them that the working out part is easy for me, i did 3 sports in high school and college so i know how to work out, i just need some help with eating and over eating. I'v been in the gym for the last 6 months, we don't know how much weight i'v lost because the scale only goes to 500 but were thinkning tha if i'm now dropping 8-12 pounds a months right now that i was about 530-550 back in Feb. But anywas i wanted to know if anyone else has had or is going to Upstate right now? I need to know whats going to happen at my next visit. i have 6 weeks and i'm going to try to get in to do my Phyc exam, and i should have the paper work back from my sleep study by friday. I just need to know whats ahead.... If anyone want to get together soon and go to these group meetings E-mail me we got to do 3 and it will be cool to know someone else who eather just started there 3 or it at there last one..... ~D

Dwight, Hun welcome to the NY board. ~hugs~ Congrats on taking the first steps of your new journey to the new you. I am post op but wanted to say hello and welcome. I hope you can find someone that will go with you, it sure makes it easier to do. I am upstate but I am not sure where you are. I am in Goshen, Orange County. Hi Dwight, Welcome to the board. I am a patient at University Hospital's Bariatric Center also. I had my surgery 3 weeks ago, and am doing great. The whole staff at UHBC is awesome. I'll email you and we can correspond. My sister is having her surgery 8/15, and we will be going to the support meeting tomorrow evening (next door to the doctor's office). Hope to see you there. Hi Dwight, Welcome... I'm the sister that's having her surgery on 8/15. I really feel confident with the staff at University. Personally, I was told by Dr. Simon that he would like me to lose 5% of my weight prior to my surgery, I had my psych eval with Dr Hayes(very nice) and my paperwork was submitted after my 2nd visit for insurance approval. I'm not quite sure about Dr. Cunningham's criteria prior to insurance submission, but I do know another person that has his 2nd visit with Dr. Cunningham tomorrow and seems happy with him. Like Deb said, we will be attending the support group meeting tomorrow night. It will be great to meet you. Take Care Tammy
