Help I need to know what doctor does the Upper Endoscopy with H. Pylori Biopsy

Hi All, I am a Newbie to the message board straight from NYC. I wanted to know if anyone knows what kind of doctor does the Upper Endoscopy with H. Pylori Biopsy. I have Magna Care Insurance and unfortunately the Dr. that does that procedure at the hospital where I intend to have the surgery does not accept my insurance. They suggested that I look through my insurance directory and find a doctor however I did not see anything listed under Upper Endoscopy. Please tell me what should I look under and what type of doctor. I feel like am swimming in a pool withou****er. I don't know what to do. I thought the secretary's at the hospital handled all the scheduling of appt. However I am forced to do the legwork. I really need suggestions, remember I live in NYC and I have Magna Care Local 808 Insurance. Thank you guys. Also if you can suggest good surgeons in NYC I would appreciate that also I want to have the Lap surgery.

Hi E - I had mine done by a gastroentorologist. Dr. Harris at Weill Cornell Hospital. I thought he was great. Don't know if he's on your insurance...good luck! Mary Mc

Hi Mary Mc I am actually having surgery at Weil Cornell Hospital and they did suggest Dr. Harris. Unfortunately he's not on my insurance...Thank you so much for your assistance. E

Hi E - I just checked under my UHC to see what type of doctor Dr. Harris is listed as ....it's gastroenterology/internal medicine. For my carrier's site, I have to first select "specialist' then choose from the provided list...hope this helps you out. I'm really excited to hear from someone who's using the same surgeon! Hi Mary- Thank you so much for your information I am a little skeptical about the surgery but I will leave everything in God's hands. My surgeon is Dr. Dakin did you have him. Do you have a page that I can view to find out how your experience was. I thought that the hospital would handle and schedule all the appt. but it seems like I have to do everything on my own. I have scheduled everything thus far I was hoping to have the surgery in the month of August but it does not look that way. How is the hospital? How's everything please let me know I appreciate it.
