An update -- I haven't been around in a while!
Hi all,
I haven't been around for a while -- I was in the hospital last week for 4 days -- they say it's either diverticulitis or colitis -- I have a colonoscopy scheduled for mid-August to find out. Very painful and not fun -- the only thing was I had the remote and could sleep when I wanted. I'm still in the process of getting my pre-op appts and approvals. I still have to meet with the cardiologist and pulmonologist. All these appts are a pain in the A--, but I guess necessary if I am to be successful. I just wanted to have a surgery date for the summer, because I would have more help with my 2 children (6 and 4) and my husband has some time off. So after being in the hospital last week I half-heartedly thought maybe I would just schedule my hernia repair (while in the hospital I had a cat scan and they found 2 hernias) -- I thought I only had one. But I thought I would just get that repaired and forget about the gastric bypass -- this way it could be done over the summer. I don't know. I hate to go through all these appts and then not get a date when it's convenient. I guess I'll take it one day at a time and see what happens -- maybe it's in God's time, not mine. I also found out I have extremely high cholesterol now too and have to take Lipitor for it. So now I have high cholesterol, high blood pressure, sleep apnea, reflux, I take Lexapro and have aches and pains -- so I feel like I'm falling apart. I need to lose this weight and become healthier for me and my kids and the rest of my family who loves me and is worried about me. Please say a prayer for me -- my only saving grace is my swimming pool. I love to go swimming and could stay in for hours (just like when I was a kid) -- so that relieves some of the stress.
Hope everyone has a wonderful relaxing weekend and I will pray for all of you too.
P.S. I will be away for a few days next week -- taking the kids to Storyland in New Hampshire and going to visit my 95 year old grandmother -- I haven't see her in two years (very depressing -- but I had emergency surgery last year during the time that I was supposed to visit) I can't wait to see her.
Love
Debbie
Debbie,
I'm sorry to hear all your going through...get those tests done and over with.....123!!!! Can they fix your hernia when you have wls? That's what the dr. did for me. After you have the surgery, so many of your other ailments will go away and someday you might be medicine free.
Enjoy Storyland, and your visit with your grandmother.
Janean
Dear Janean,
Thanks for your response and prayers. They can fix the hernia when I have wls, but I don't know if I'll get through all these appts and approvals and get a wls date before September. My sister is a teacher and is off over the summer and could alternate with my Mom to help me. In September my daughter goes into 1st grade and my son will go three mornings a week to pre-K. But I guess if there is a will there's a way. I know I've read your profile and you have 4 or 5 kids and you got it done -- Did you have a lot of help? How did you feel when you came home? Were you able to take care of things right away?
Anyway, I will take it one day at a time and I appreciate your support. Have a great weekend.

Debbie,
Hello hun...~hugs~ I am sorry you are going through all of this right now, like you need more stress when you are starting your journey! it is good that you have the pool to help with that..
Keep getting all your appts done so this way you are ready to have the surgery and maybe you can work something out when the kids have off a couple of days after they get back to school. It will work out as it should hun, have faith in that.. ~hugs~
Well hey I am having a small get together at my Mom's house in Holbrook today/tonight and would love for you to come by. If you are interested please email me with your number and I will call. I see you are not really that far from Holbrook. Would love to meet ya.
