my name is Debbie, and I started this journey about a year ago. I was supposed to have the RNY last August, and then decided to put it on hold so I could finish school. which I have. Now I have decided to continue with the RNY. I have only had to redo a few tests. In the meantime, my cardiologist told me that my heart function is low, and that not only do I need to start taking heart meds, but he would probably only be able to do the lap band. I am so upset about all of this. In one aspect I feel like giving up, in another aspect, I know that I need to take care of this. I am 27 years old. I feel like I am too young for this. If anybody has any suggestion, please feel free to express them. Thanks

Debra, Well, all the more reason to continue on this journey!!! I read about so many people who take all kinds of meds before surgery and then after the surgery and weight loss they end up med free!!!! As for the lap band.....if it isnt your choice to have it, you might want to consult with another surgeon.....different surgeons have "different rules." You need to be very comfortable with whoever you use Good look on your journey....I truly hope all works out well for you. Janean
