Post op ???????
Im about 2 1/2 weeks post op, Ive lost 18 pounds. Is this a normal amount, or am I losing too slowly?? I dont see the difference, but my boyfriend does. The only place where I see a difference is that my chest is getting much smaller, Im afraid that Im gonna end up being flat chested adn Im not used to that at all!! I had DDs before my surgery, and Im actually sad that they are going away. Is this normal? Will it quit?? Thanks!!
Hi Terri,
I think everyone loses as their own pace. I am two weeks post op tomorrow, doing everything I'm supposed to (drinking, getting my protein drinks, and eating 2 oz of "mushy" food three times a day). As of this morning I have lost 15 lbs. I am very pleased with my weightloss and so should you! Just think about it....when was the last time you lost 18 lbs in just over two weeks? It all depends on where you are starting with your weight also. I had just about 100 lbs to lose, which I expect will make a me a little slower loser.
I decided coming into this surgery that I was not going to compare myself to others, and that my body would lose exactly what it wants, and as long as I'm following the rules, it will come off. Try not to compare yourself to others. Just listen to your body.
As far as the chest goes...unfortunately I'm losing in my upper body first also, and I started out a C!
Good luck and take good care of yourself.
All the best, Deb

Terri,
Hello hun....~Hugs~ I lost 16 lbs within the first 2 weeks, everyone loses at their own rate. I know if you have more to lose it seems it comes off quicker at the beginning but it is all the same in the end if you follow what you should be doing....
I am down 30 lbs since my surgery that was 6/6/05 so I am about 5 weeks out. Of course I wi**** was faster but I am like Debra, take it as it comes! I know it only gets slower as we move forward.
Do not worry hun, it will come off as you move forward, seems that some weeks are better then others. Also you have to note that sometimes the scale does not move but you can feel the difference in your body shape. It is all good hun, hang in there...~hugs~

You are doing great!!! I lost @ 11 pounds the first 3 weeks but, I had lost 113 by 10 months out. I have stayed ther same for @ 6 months now but I feel GREAT!!!!!! everyone has a different experience. Just think its 18
pounds less than 2 weeks ago. I just told myself as long as it didn't go the other way I would be happy!!!!!!! I went from a 22 to a size 4. The best part is I feel NORMAL now. I am healthy!
First of all, congratulations!!
Now to your question. At two weeks out, I lost just about the same amount, 18 pounds...
On Thursday, I'll be 13 weeks out and as of yesterday morning, I've lost 59 pounds. It's such an amazing journey. I had a few complications and was hospitalized but now I feel like my health is returning. I have energy, I feel better about myself, but yes, my chest is getting smaller. But I don't mind, I was a G cup before, so DD would be fine by me!
Just learn to love your body again, and be patient with yourself. This is a journey that will teach you things about yourself that you never knew and remind you of things that you have long forgetten.
Be well,
L-
Laura,
Thank you for your encouraging words, I hope that Im that successful, I guess I just get impatient sometimes, the scale finally started moving again this week. I dont see the loss, butmy boyfriend does, and even calls me skinny! I still see the same fat personin the mirror, not sure when Ill be able to realize that i have changed. This definitley is an amazing journey, congrats and good luck on yours!!
