I've been almost positive about going to Dr. Omally for wls,but now I'm considering Dr.Boss due to the shorter waiting time.I havn't meet either of them yet so if you have anything good or bad to say about them please spill it! I wish I could see a vidio of them introducing themselfs and what they are all about.that would be great. and no office charge ! lol Thanks for all of your help and support through all of this

Darlene- I had surgery with Dr. Boss almost 8 months ago!!! The man is wonderful!!! I know Dr. O'Malley is great too, but I also had to trust Dr. O'Malley was not going to let a quack into the practice, ya know? I had a MUCH shorter wait time with Dr. Boss. He is a sweetheart too. Oh the best part I like is everytime I go back I see Dr. Boss, with Dr. O'Malley you see the nurse practitioner unless you have problems, which you dont want to have. Feel free to email me with any questions, good luck!!! Janet

Hi Darlene I first met Dr. Boss last July and had the privilege of having him take care of me in November 2004 for an bowel obstruction and surgery for an hernia repair. In March of this year Dr. Boss did my gastric bypass along with several other procedures. He took such good care of me. I saw him everyday while I was hospitalized both times. He is a very caring, knowledgeable person with a great smile. Like Janet, I really like that see him when you go back for your visits. I don't know much about Dr. O'Malley. You can do a google search for Highland Hospital and under their surgery page you will find information on their surgeons. That includes their education, specialities and a picture of Dr. Boss and Dr. O'Malley. Good luck Burt

Have you considered Daniel Galvin at Rochester General? Amazing! Top notch new program, he was recruited from a huge bariatric center down south. He was given carte blanche to hire an expert team and acquire all specialty bariatric equipment. He has done thousands of RNY and is the local expert on Lap-banding. His complication rate is VERY low, and we have a super support group system in place. His wait time is also not very long. It's one-stop shopping for all your phyche, nutritionist, and pre-op stuff, and after that it only took me 2 weeks for insurance approval. From approval to surgery date for me was only 4 weeks. I am feeling great and went back to work after only a week. No complications, nor any from any of the about 12 or so ladies I am in regular contact with. Good luck!

Darlene, I just had surgery with Dr. Boss on 6/24/05 He is ABSOLUTELY wonderful!!! He came to talk to me everyday that I was in the hosp. I had surgery on Friday and came home on Sunday. Then he squeezed me in between surgeries a week later to take my staples out cuz they were bothering me, he really DOES care, and takes the time to really talk to you and listen to your questions and concerns. Dr. Boss only does laprascopic gastric bypass, and I only used a total of 5 pain pills after I got home. I feel really great, sometimes I dont even know if I really had the surgery done cuz I feel so great and havent gotten sick at all!!!! Good luck with your wls journey, I hope that this information helps you.

I had surgery with Dr. Boss on 4/5/04. He is very, very nice has a great bedside manner. he is great surgeon. i had complications but I don't feel any of it was his fault. My sister had the surgery the same day I did. You get to see him every day and when you go back for follow-ups. Dr. O is SO BUSY you will wait 1 to 1.5 years to go thru his process. Have you ever went to a support group at Park Ridge hospital? There are people there from all the different surgeons. 1st Wed. and third Tues of each month. If you need more info email me.
