My friend with medicaid

My friend, actually a customer in my store was interested in the RNY and is looking for a surgeon on LI. I told him that if he wanted the surgery done on LI he should speak with Dr. Garber. He went to a support group last night that Dr. Garber hosts and was told that Dr. Garber doesn't accept Medicaid. Does anyone here have any experience with bariatric surgeon on LI that accept Medicaid? Any info would be extremly helpful. thanks, Enzo

Try Dr. Dominick Gadeleta or Dr. Larry Gellman. They are in Great Neck on East Shore Road. The phone number is 516-482-8657. I don't know if either of them accept Medicaid, but it can't hurt to call and ask. Dr. Gellman did my surgery, so I know that he just pulled out of Oxford, so who know which insurances they are accepting. Wish your friend good luck for me. Joanne

Dr. George Angus accepts Medicaid. He works out of Nassau University Medical Center. I have heard good things about him. His number is (516) 572-5869.

Second the opinion regarding Dr. Angus--he was my surgeon, and I can't praise him enough . Great guy, and he indeed does take Medicaid.
