hi lisa im not sure what your doc told you but i wouldnt worry so much about protein so much as i would as about staying hydrated and letting your pouch heal... for me i was on full liquids for 3 weeks and just sometimes kept a bottle of water with me at all times or a cup of chicken broth with me.......i didnt start with protien shakes or drinks till i was at least a month out.. getting the protien builds with time this is the healing phase so just stay hydrated and try again in a week like you said Stacy 232/137 apparantly still a loser!!!!!!!!!!

Lisa, I am glad you are feeling well....~hugs~ I know about the protein, I started from the day after I was home to get my protein in because if there is anything that I can do to lessen my hair loss and healing I am going to do it. I have found putting the powder into puddings and yogurt is awesome and it sure helps to boost the protein intake. Start out slow and use a little, adding as you go on. Somtimes they are so strong that it hits you hard (as in your head aches) and in my case it was the gas in them kept me so bloated. Now I add them to my puddings and yogurt, which helps me get it in. Well get your rest hun and remember to walk when you can, it really goes help..... Take care Debra P
