Donna, Hello hun and thanks for posting. ~hugs~ Oh that is cool, he is an awesome surgeon hun and you are in great hands. I am going back half days next week and I will see how that goes for me. If I have to go home I will... I am sure they will understand, if not then so be it, I have to take care of myself first for a change in my life. Take care Debra P

Hiya Debra, Yeah...TGIF! My last day at work. I am going on a much needed vacation for a week.I will get to see my dad and brother in Florida, and hopefully get some R&R. It's been a long hard year. I'm glad to hear you are doing well. I think that going back for 1/2 days is a good idea. I'm sure you will do just fine, every day you will get a little stronger. Good luck! Gail

Hey Debra, I'm definately staying cool....I love central air!!!! I went for my 1 month follow-up yesterday....Donna said everything looks good...my incisions are all healing well. I lost 26 lbs in total. I have to go for blood work to see if I'm lacking anything, and vitamins are changing. But all is good. I took 6weeks off on disability....so I go back July 5. You'll have to let me know how it goes. Talk to you soon, Love, Janean

TGIF is right! Long week. I finally told my boss I was having a "procedure" with a one night hospital stay and need a week off to recouperate. I built this up in my mind for weeks now, so nervous...why...I have no idea. He was great about it. His face turned white when I told him, I didn't tell him anything more than "a procedure". I think he got a little nervous when I went into his office and shut the door. He probably thought I was QUITTING! Anyway, glad I got that overwith! Still waiting for Oxford to get back to me but thats another story.... Have a great weekend all! Dee

Dee, That is great that you told him and all went fine.... It is a good feeling when you see you are needed and wanted there right? Well I am sure you will hear soon hun, as Oxford is one that approves the WLS without problems from what I heard but I will keep ya in my thoughts and prayers...~hugs~ Take care Debra P

Thanks Debra. I had heard the same thing about Oxford. Who knows. They are saying the surgery is approved but the inpatient stay is pending. Since my surgeon requires a one night stay, I don't know what the problem is. Surgeon's office told me to call them back next week if I haven't gotten the letter from Oxford and they would contact them. I'm sure it will be fine, I am just a worrier! Good luck to you going back to work next week. Thats good that you are doing half days. I'm sure you'll do just fine. -Dee

Hey Debra I went back to work after two weeks, I am an occupational therapist and I treat kids, anyway, one time I had a protein bar before one of my sessions, (this must have been at least two months out though because I couldn't have protein bars till then) anyway, I did indeed have to throw up sooooooo I excused myself, said I think I have to throw up, went and did, came back and continued. At the moment I was mortified, I couldn't believe it was actually happening. I thought I would have to end the session, but after I threw up I was fine! I am sure the mom thought I was pregnant, she actually asked but five months later it was really no big deal. So the point is take it one day at a time, you may have to throw up excuse yourself and do it. Good I dea with going back 1/2 days. This is some ride but I spent today at the beach with my kids walking around without a t-shirt on. So even though some days are still really hard for me. I can say it was worth it. Good Luck, let us know how it goes!! Tina
