Insurance approval

HI DEE JUST WANTED TO LET YOU KNOW THAT I HAVE OXFORD AND WAS APPROVED AFTER 1ST LETTER. I ALSO HAVE A CO-WORKER WHO HAD HER SURGEY DONE IN FEB AND NO PROBLEM WITH APPROVEL. SO DON'T WORRY EVERYTHING WILL BE FINE. BEST OF LUCK NICOLE

Nicole - do you remember how long it took? I know my surgeon sent everything in the first week in June, then they needed further notes which were sent on the 8th. So today when I called Oxford, they said it was "pending". The person assigned to my case hasn't returned the call I made to her last week, so I just called the general number. I guess I just have to try to stay calm. I'm just getting so anxious! -Dee

I also have Oxford........my surgery is scheduled for this friday and I still don't have approval. They send the letter and they requested more information........I'm also so nervous..........I have thew time off and everything so it would be devastating to me not to be approved..........Good luck............Maria

Oh wow Maria...Good luck to you. I hope you hear that you are approved soon! I am having the lapband and I know people get denied for reasons of "experimental" etc. I hope thats not the case with Oxford. Please keep us posted. -Dee

DEE I BELIEVE IT TOOK ABOUT 2WKS NOT REALLY SURE. I DIDN'T EVEN CALL THE INSURANCE COMPANY. I RECIEVED 1 LETTER FROM THE INSURANCE COMPANY STATING THAT THEY NEEDED DOCTORS NOTES, THAT WAS IT. I CALLED MY DOCTORS OFFICE TO SEE IF THEY GOT THE LETTER THEY DID AND THAT I WAS APPROVED... HOPE THIS HELPS. NICOLE

I got my approval from Oxford.........they requested more notes, my doctor send them yesterday and I was approved today..........having my surgery on friday..................good luck to you
