Insurance approval

I am still waiting on my insurance approval...my surgery is 3 wks from today. I called them on Fri and I was told it is "pending". Should I start calling them everyday or is this normal waiting time? I would be so much at ease if I knew for sure it was approved. But this waiting... I am so ready and anxious for the surgery...what if I don't get approved???? My surgeons office told me not to worry that Oxford is pretty good but still...I just want to hear that word "APPROVED! and I will be -Dee

Hey Dee. You will be fine.. I did the same thing as you and called everyday and finally one day I didn't call and my surgeon's office called and said I was approved.. My friend has Oxford and she said they are great so dont worry you will be approved.. So just keep busy and take it one day at a time...Good Luck.. Let me know what happens... ~Hugs~ Cathy

Thanks Cathy, I did hear that Oxford was pretty good, so we shall see. I know I just have to stop thinking about it so much. But thats my nature, worry, worry, worry...lol I'm sure I'll find out soon. -Dee

HANG in their DEE you will have your surgery and this is just a small wait for you. I am sure you will be approved. I think its great as its keeping your mind busy instead of worrying about the surgery itself. Dee, Hun I know the waiting is a killer....OMG I thought I was going to jump out of my skin.... Now I would say call every day, my Dr's office said do not call but I did anyways....Hey they are not the one waiting to hear...well I guess they are but they were not as excited as me when I did hear... I know what you mean Debra! I am going crazy waiting. I want to call the insurance company but I almost afraid to, I don't wait to hear that they denied it. Plus its hard to make a call with nosey-bodies sitting nearby me at work. Only 2 girls I work with know about it. I haven't told my bosses yet that I will need the time off. I think I'll wait until I get my approval first. Thanks for the wishes. -Dee

Hi Dee the waiting can be a killer but hang in there, your doctor know's best what the insurance companies are like so if he say Oxford is pretty good then I'm sure you will be approved with no problem they might just make you wait til the last minute thou..... your time is almost here so hang on for the ride.... YES dee it i a good thing. I had alot of stress two weeks pre op had to go on meds to keep blood pressure in control and antideppresants but i wasnt worrying about my surgury! GOOD LUCK
