Trying again....
Well I havent been on in awhile...and I think I may need some advice.
I did all of my testing in Oct2004...all that was left to do was the support groups and my pcp's letter...Then I decided that I wanted to wait because my husband and I wanted to start a family....
What was I thinking!?
I now know im too heavy to have children...and if I were to get pregnant at this weight im only jeopardizing myself and the baby, so with a long talk to my hubby, we decided to wait to have kids and get back on the WLS wagon again.
Here are my concerns right now..The surgeon I have chosen is Dr. Kaul in Westchester. The last time I was in his office my weight was at 376, my insurance was MVP....and the nurse said I cannot go over 376.....7 months later I have different insurance, Empire BC/BS EPO and have gained weight...the reason for the weight gain was because I had fallen and sprained my knee and couldnt do much, I was out of work for 2 weeks and for a good month after that all i did was sit...no activity because of my knee pain. Anyway...does anyone know how they are about gaining weight....Like I said ..all I have to do is go to 2 WLS support groups and my doctor has to do her letter and I aam then ready to go...EVERYTHING else is done....Will I have to lose the weight I have gained...or by chance because I have different insurance will it not make a difference?
I hope someone out the can help me out!
Other than that..IM BACK and im gonna do this!!

Tanya,
Hun welcome back and with your choice to have the WLS....~Hugs~
I would think maybe you would want to call the office and ask to speak to someone that might be able to help you, your surgeons office that is. They might just be able to answer that for you, it's worth a try.
Hun I wish you the very best and keep us posted....~hugs to you~

Yea...i was thinking that was what I would have to do...
I work with a bunch of nosy people at work, and it's hard to call them and talk but Im gonna have to go in the back or something.
I havent told anyone at work yet that I decided to go back to doing it. I just thought I would wait till I have a date....hopefully i didnt gain too much weight and it will be ok!
Thanks Debra!

Hi Tanya
My surgeons were Dr. Cerabona and Dr. Yatco.....if all those tests were done back in October of 2004 I am pretty sure they are all out of date by now-I believe they are only good for 6 months, also mine was postponed due to a sinus infection-when I was rescheduled for the surgery 4 weeks later I had to redo my urine and blood tests. Please call and ask these questions so you don't have any surprises. Being that you didn't follow thru with the first surgery attempt maybe the last weight you were will not matter(not sure but ask) Dr. Yatco told me no gaining weight AT ALL-not even 1 pound....when I told the office I may have gained about 3-4 lbs. she said they wouldn't tolerate more than a 5 LB. gain(not sure how true that is either) I didn't want to take any chances of ruining all the hard work I put into all those pre-op appointments so I decided to do a protein shake for breakfast and soup and/or salad for lunch and dinner-it worked and after 10 days I lost 9 lbs. and the Dr. was very happy with that and told me to still lose b4 the surgery...I wish you the best.

Hi Robin...thanks for replying...I did speak to them at the office about all the tests Ive already done and they did say they are good for a year..so that is one thing I dont have to worry about.
I have to get on the scale at work tomorrow and see how just how much I have gained...I hope not too much...I was thinking maybe doing Atkins to get it off quicker, if need be...but before I get all worried about it Im going to call their office tomorrow and ask about it....Anyone know what their hours are? Im hoping 8 so i can call before i go to work...or even if it they are open til 6 I can call after work...
Thanks Robin for replying!
oh yea....what kind of protein shake did you have in the morning?
