Hi All, I'm three months out and finding that I'm easily angered. Don't know if it's hormones, lack of sugar, people just being idiots (I vote for that one!) or what...just find that I get angry real easy lately. Don't like it. Don't like how I feel and it's making me not like myself. Does anyone see a good therepist? Someone with experience with WLS? I live in Suffolk County. Thanks for any help. Deb

I don't know any counselors, but I vote for "people being idiots" too ;) Lots of those around LI - especially on the LIE & Parkways Ok, back to the topic at hand... What do you find yourself getting angered at? certain triggers or just everything?

I had some periods where I did get kind of touchy. And I've heard other people say they had some emotional times, especially in the first months. Our hormones are going a bit wacky trying to adjust to all the changes. We may also be going not just physical withdrawal from various foods, but emotional withdrawal, too. Seeing a therapist could help. Unfortunately, I don't know of a WLS counselor (at least not in private practice). There are some connected with some surgeons. Willo Witkowski (sp?) works with Dr. Geiss (lap band) and also with Dr. Garber (RNY, etc.), both in Nassau. I'm sure there must be some in Suffolk. Maybe you could call her and she could refer you to someone. In the meantime, posting here can help, too. It's great to receive support from people who've been through the same thing! Good luck! ~~ Ilene Rachel RNY 06/22/2004 296.5/172.5/130
