Hello my AMOS Family,
Well I can still say TGIF even though I am not working right now right?.... Well all has been good but I am still learning about this weird pouch..... I am getting confused with feeling full or is it just the gas which is SOOOOO bad right now......I take some Gas X but it only helps a little. If you take that how many do you take at a time? I am doing one because of the tiny pouch but will 2 do better?
How much did you walk at at time and how often? I hope I am not doing to much, just trying to get rid of this gas, I start out ok in the morning and by mid day I am so bloated with gas.
My surgeon has me on stage 2 already but when I tried really runny mashed potatos my pouch was hurting so I got rid of them, I am doing puree diet, today my Mom made home made chicken soup and I have some broth, chicken and celery in a food processer and it tasted so good but looked aweful. I did not get but an once down and I think it was because of the gas. I have to work up to 40-60 grams of protein a day so I am working on that plus getting in my water......WOW now I understand how hard this is, even wose when you have so much gas...
Well take care all and I am sorry that I have not been here to post more and post back to you all but I am getting tired quick still.....from all that walking...

Hi Debra,
Great to see you!!!! I took 2 gas x's at a about 3x a day at first....now I only need it if I eat fruit, even applesauce, so I'm going to stay away from fruit for a couple of weeks. 4 things that I've been enjoying are.....part-skim ricotta/on melba toast, hummus on melba toast, and pureed beans/with fat free cheddar, eggwhites with fat free cheddar the last two I cook in pam. Other than that, and jello, or pudding...I've been concentrating on liquids. Its hard with that 1/2 hour before, 1/2 hour after....it takes some getting used too. Today I walked around the super-market with my husband.....and picked out some new things to try...I'll let you know how it goes..
Talk to you soon.
Love,
Janean

Hiya Deb,
In the beginning I had a lot of gas too, and I found Gas X helped a lot if I took 2 tabs at a time. The cherry ones were yummy too! Did you bring any of the protein drinks I gave you to your Mom's house? That would help you get some protein, if you like them. I did have some trouble with them, but some people do well with them. E-mail me your phone # if and when you feel up to talking.
Take care!

Hey Debra... Glad to hear that you are feeling a little better and getting around... Sorry to hear about the gas pains.... like everyone said, you can take 2 at a time... as far as apologizing about not posting more... you just had major surgery and you're re-couping, so I'm sure everyone understands... The food can be overwhelming sometimes, I know I still have to remind myself to eat, especially with this heat. But I would definately make sure you're drinking! you dont want to dehydrate... My fave for the past few days are sf icepops... they feel good cause they're really cold.... my grouchy pouchy only tolerates ice cold... how demanding this little thing can be!! Well hope you're resting up! Miss ya!

Gia,
Thanks for your sweet words my Angel .....
I am going to give ya a call today, I had your number by my chair yesterday but it just got to late to fast, I just don't know where the days are going..... Well I am feeling better every day which is a good thing. I think as of today I am staying off of the pain meds when I sleep and taking the Tylenol Gelcaps instead and see if they will work.
I have been eating the ice pops are well hun, I tried the cherry and it was just to sweet so but the grape is my fav. Orange was not so bad also and to think the cherry was my fav before......weird how your taste change after surgery. I also have this really nasty taste in my mouth but I not sure if that is from the pain killers (percaset, sp?).
Take care hun......
