So Many Questions

What do all the ABC mean. I want to have Gastric Bypass Surgery. with a open cut. I see all these RNY, VBG and others I dont know what they mean. what would be the letters for what I want to have done. Manybe I am not understanding it. Dottie

Hi Dottie, by what you have posted the procedure you are having is called Open RNY,Roux-en-Y(pronounced roo-en-y) Gastric Bypass ,I had LAP RNY (laparascopic Roux-en-Y) where I had 6 small incisions and a drain tube. I believe the VBG means Vertical Banded Gastroplasty... another form of WLS. Hope I helped you some. Robin

Thank you. can I go if I have not done the surgey yet? I went to the group meeting to here what it was all about. I so want to do this now. I have my first doctor appointment on Tueday but my love of my life wants to go with me and he don't think he can get off. I just do not want to put this off any longer.
