Icky subject of sweating

Hey everyone! I hope that all of you are having a great day and enjoying the warmth that has taken so long to arrive (but arrived with too big a blast imho). I've got a question for you... Does anyone have the problem of excessive sweating? I'm not talking about the normal sweating your body is supposed to do to keep itself cool, but the feeling of melting all the time. As embarrassing as it is to admit, I sweat so much that I can't wear makeup (would just rub it off within the first 10 mins), can't do anything with my hair except a ponytail (cuz it's always wet - ugh), and God forbid I go anywhere without something to mop my face with (I'd gross everyone out! ). I used to think it was just hot flashes from menopause but I went through that almost 8 yrs ago. I'm going to ask my doctor about this when I see him on Wednesday, but I wondered if anyone else faced it and if maybe after losing a substantial amount of weight would "cool" me off a bit... Also, if you have any home remedies to get this under control, I'd sure appreciate your Hugs to all Lisa Z 44 days till surgery

I used to sweat profusely I lost 147 lbs. I think the weight had alot to do with it, but I also have a dead thyroid from being treated with radioactive iodine for Graves Disease. I really think it was the weight that contributed to the sweating, but you might want to have your thyroid checked. I think that's a standard pre-op blood test anyway. Joanne
