Long Island PCP

Can anyone recommend a weight-sensitive primary care physician in Long Island? I like my current one but he isn't very good at answering my questions about weight, depression etc. As I mentioned on a post in the main board his response to questions about weight, losing weight etc. is "go jogging and eat less". It is very hard to find a doctor in Long Island so I'm hoping someone can give me a good referral. I'd prefer south shore/nassau county areas. Thanks, S

Hi, A wonderful weight sensitive physician is Dr. Genoveese in New Hyde Park. I love him. I can also do the pulmonary testing. Janean

Hi Janean, Thanks for your reply. Dr. Joseph F Genovese? He's on my plan but seems to have 4 offices? 2342 NHP Road 915 Hillside Ave 3003 NHP Road (all in NHP) 1129 Northern Blvd in Manhasset.

Stephan, He is on New Hyde Park Rd. He shares an office with Dr Garber. I also used Dr Genovese. It was very convenient because I was using Dr Garber as my surgeon. I also liked him a lot. Good luck Gail

I've been reading about Dr. Garber - he seems pretty well-liked.

Dr. Genovese examined (pulmonary physician) me as part of my prescreening. Dr. Genovese shares an office with my Primary care physician, Dr. Ronald Dagostino. in Manhasset. Stephen, I met with Dr. Genoveese at the New Hyde Park Road address...Dr. Garber was/is my surgeon. I used Dr. Genoveese as my pcp and my pulmonologist. Dr. Garber had given me a list with several Dr.'s in each area. I am definately going to continue to use Dr. Genoveese even though it is a little far for me(about 35 minutes), that's how much I liked him. It also made it very convenient that he and Dr. Garber have such a good relationship. Janean
