Curves Myth

Sorry Guys.. I think I posted without checking out.... I was told that curves waives fee if you are a bariatric patient and I just called Curves and found out that it's not the truth.. I will check this out with the person at my surgeons office and will repost when I get any new info... Sorry!! Gia

Hey Gia I was so excited when I heard about this that I called my local Curves and they also said that they do not do this, BUT I talked to them about my situation and the lady that I spoke to said that she will talk to her manager to see what they can do. I should hear something tomorrow. I think it would be a nice thing for me...My DR also recommended Curves and I told them that. It might make a difference...I figure that I havent lost anything by just talking to them. So ask they might do it...I am hoping so anyway... Tara

Gia Hey, Tara is right! It can't hurt to ask Curves about waiving the fee. Also, mention that you participate in a groupon the Internet of thousands of women who have had Bariatric Bypass Surgery and who would be interested in going to Curves if the large membership fee was waived. It would make it easier if you only have to pay a monthly fee. Right??? Word of mouth and in this case, the Internet, can bring in more business. I know if Tara gets them to consider waiving the membership fee, I would be interested even if I have to pay a monthly fee. Keep me posted as to what you find out, Tara. Good luck in your quest!!! I am a member of the Curves in Ithaca, New York and when I called to inquire about the fees, I was told they had a coupon that they were giving out to pay half of the intital fee. I signed up for a year long in which they take out the monthly fee each month from my checking account. This made my monthly fee only 29.00 as oppose to the 39.00 monthly fee. When all was said and done I paid 69.00 the first day and that included my monthly feel for May. VERY cheap I might add. Have been a\having a great time so far. FYI: If you do the direct withdrawal from your checking account your entitled to workout at any Curves. All you have to do is get a pass to another Curves. Even if you don't have a pass they Curves your at can just call your Curves and they will verify your membership. Love this!!!! Erica Oh yeah, The Ithaca Curves has a bonus: They have more stations so your routine isn't 30 minutes like most Curves but actually 40 MINUTES!!!!
