5 days out of surgery ....

Hey Everyone.. i am 5 days out of surgery very sore .. but i must ask (2) questions. I have a weird feeling in the back of my throat.. i am not sure what it is.. like a sore acidy kind of feeling... 2nd. I have had diarehea from 4am this moring and its still happening .. called doctor.. and he said.. wait it out and if it doesnt stop i need to go in.. for a test.. has this happened to anyone.. help i am worried....

Hi Rosemarie Welcome to the losing side!!!! Not sure about the throat thing but I did have diarrhea initially and it did stop. Take some warm liquids for the throat, it couldbe from the intubation and may be a little sore. Keep in touch with your doc to be sure. Believe me, It will get better!! Tina

THANKS SO MUCH FOR REPSONDING I AM HAVING A HARD TIME WITH THIS RIGHT NOW.. IT KINDA FEELS LIKE ACID REFLUX, AND IT JUST STARTED I AM WORRIED ABOUT .. HAVING A LEAK...

Hi RoseMarie, I had surgery the same day, I am taking omeprazole (Generic Prilosec)by prescription,I was on it b4 the surgery. My surgeon said to stay on my same meds. The surgeon requires 2 doses a day for the first 2 months of over the counter Pepcid, 25mg each which is the regular strength. Call your Dr and ask if maybe you should be taking something, mine said all his patients are to take it to prevent ulcers. Robin
