I had my surgery on May 9, 2005 at Community General Hospital, with Dr. Jeffrey Desimone operating and being proctored by Dr. Mike Hill, from Saranac Lake. I am doing very well, the first few days were very rough in the hospital, but the staff was on the ball. Four of us had the surgery done for the first time at Community, so everyone wanted the process to be successful, and it was. I was to have surgery on April 6, with Dr. Cunningham, however, my husband woke me up at 2 a.m. with chest pain. He was having a heart attack that resulted in 2 new stents. Thank God all is ok now. I have lost 16 pounds since surgery, however my main reason for having the surgery is to be around to care for my husband, and see my kids get married and have children and grandchildren. My HEALTH IS #1. I wanted to avoid all of the co morbities that have plagued my family. I have 45 first cousins who have had MI's in thier 40's. Bye for now.
