Thank you ROSIE for understanding ....it was just my opinion but someone didnt reply to nice to what i said which was what made me choose the path i did. THE person who started the thread wants to hear the pros and cons.... EACH procedure is right for different folks and its all a matter of personal choice. I just explained why I didnt and am not going that path which was the path i started on . THANKS rosie you understood! LISA

Hi Maria After reading everyone else's post I thought I should throw my 2 cents in being a GUY I started out at 420lbs when I had my surgery. I had LAP RNY DISTAL which means I am BY-PASSED a little more than most because I had a lot to lose. I lost my first 100lbs in 4 months and it was a great feeling, me being so large it took me about 4 weeks to really feel like myself and getting back to normal or close to it. I didnt want to eat a thing for the longest time and even now being 27 months since my surgery I still can go without being hungry. (I am one of the lucky ones) I lost my second 100lbs when I reached 16 months and thats when I had my first Plastic Surgery. The Dr removed 15 1/2lbs of skin from me when I had my lower body lift done in Albany. I have now lost 215lbs total and have held that weight for 6 months so far but I do go up and down a few lbs here and there. I am now waiting for insurance to approve me for my upper body lift so I can be done with all my surgery's. I love my RNY but everyone is different, its a known fact that we as BY-PASS people lose more and faster but it is a big life change and there is no going back if you dont like the way your eating habits have to change. The one thing that I can say to offer advice is to read as much as you can and ask or meet as many people that had both and then make up your mind from what you find out and is best for you. All I can say also is good luck in your journey no matter which way you go and if you need to ask any questions just drop an e mail and if I can help I will.
