HERE IS WHAT AN IGNORANT ESPN FREELANCER THINKS OF GUAM ....A U.S....
Good afternoon every one...just decided to vent a little...and here goes.. i am from the beautiful island of guam.....well this moring i woke up and went to the guam news web site...(keep in mind i was having a good day)
UNTIL i read this article some free lance writer for the espn decide to slander the island i am from ....wich is actually us terriority...well he basicilly degraded MY ISLAND OF GUAM...i guess what upset me the most is espn had published this ignorant idiot' article on there website
sports.espn.go.com/espn/page2/story?page=ogle/050524...
i know we live a liberal country(freedom of speach)but does that give a person the right to slander the island of Guam...where we fly the america flag above or own flag....
We have suffered many more deaths, per capita, in the Vietnam conflict and in Iraq than any U.S. city and in a small community like Guam, we all know who died and why
HERE ARE JUST SOME OF THE THINGS HE WROTE:
.That ****fighting "is what locals do to pass the time on this 341-square-mile island, ... stuck all by itself in the middle of the Pacific. Truly, the middle of nowhere. Entertainment options are limited."
People here fit into one of two categories. Either they've lived here their entire lives, or they're stationed here by the U.S. military."
"Guam, though, is not exactly Manhattan, ... and the crowd was not exactly the upper crust of the population. They say if an American man walks through a particular poor village in Guam, families will offer their daughters." (not true at all)...
i suggest you read all the article to get where i am coming from...bbut then switch Guam to whatever state u r from...would you be just as angry
Why on earth would you want to direct our attention to a story that is misleading and derogatory to your homeland?
Thanks to your efforts to make sure we find this particular story,
it will take on a longer "shelf life" than if you'd simply vented without giving enough particulars to lead us dirrectly to its location.
I respect your frustration and will not lower my standards to go to that particular website & read that awful story.

Dear Sam S. & Others,
I obviously did a poor job of expressing my deep sense of sympathy for your hurt and frustration at the insulting article you publicized.
I hope no one reads such ignorant and sarcastic newswriting such as you cited that maligns your homeland.
You are right to be upset with such journalism.
However, anger inevitably injures the one feeling the anger more seriously than the object of their anger.
I hope you have experienced the loving support of other readers on this post and can turn away from the irritating news stories and posts (apparently such as mine).
It was never my intention to have my frustration with that journalist be misconstrued as an attack on you and I ask your forgiveness.
Lovingly,
Lauralyn
