Pamela.....Sorry to hear your having the major hair loss, first off are you getting in your protiens??? Taking your vitamins??? If you are maybe you should call your doc and have your levels checked and make sure your not to low on something. Also I have done hair for the last 13 years and was wondering if you ever tried NIOXXIN...It's also a hair growth stimulator, a little pricy and quite a few steps but it does work...also I know with your har falling out your stressed but stress also causes hair loss! Try to see what your doc says and then find out about the NIOXXIN....Good luck!! Karry 311/189/167 goal

Hiya Pamela, I am experiencing hair loss as well although not to the extent you are. My surgeon recommended I take 50 mg of Zinc each day in addition to my multi and calcium. I bought some and tried it a few times but it made my pouch crampy so I stopped. It did seem to help though. I am going to look for it in a different form. In November I had been taking it in the form of a lozenge that disolved under my tongue - I gotta go to GNC and see if they have some now. If you find something that works please post and let us know! God bless you and keep you, ~Andrea

I started losing significant amounts of hair at 2-1/2 months out. By the 3rd month point, I started taking GNC Ultra Nourishair. Within two weeks, I went from losing a fluffy palmful of hair every time I brushed my hair to losing a thimble-full of hair. Now I have no significant hair loss whatsoever when brushing although ... since I've been in the height of post-WLS hair loss (3-6 months after surgery), I do not wash my hair as frequently as I used to because that's when hair loss seems to be more considerable. I use Pantene shampoos and no one I mention it to thinks I've suffered any hair loss at all because it appears so full. (BTW, I have very fine hair ... so it's not like I had volumes of hair to begin with.)

When mine did that I upped my protein and it took a little time but it came back better than before. Still today at almost 2 years out mine will start falling out some, and if I look at my diet I notice that the protein is low. So up it goes once again. I keep the protein up and the hair and nails are even better than before. Betty Jo Lap RNY 7/11/03 Dr Graber 399.5/206/150 Over 180 inches gone

The protein is the thing to do for hair loss. My hair was shedding bad and I started drinking the isopure protein drink and it slow down the shedding. I'm almost 6 months post op. 265/202/goal 140
