Waiting......AGAIN

Hello All Just thought I would stop by and let you know that I am waiting...AGAIN for the doctor to fax an "Appeal of Determination with Additional Information" letter to my ins. co., Aetna, along with a new letter of "medical necessity", a copy of the original Letter of Determination, and the additional information from my supervised nutrition and exercise program. Doctor's office SHOULD call me and let me know when it has been faxed as the insurance company has a set time in which they have to notify me of their determination. Then it is more waiting for the insurance company. Please pray that the determination is positive. I will let you all know when I hear something from either the doctor or Aetna. Debra Hi!! Thank you for your encouragement. If anyone knows about "waiting", it is definitely you. The worse part for me is that I have already been through this twice (once with BC/BS, then Aetna) because after being approved, our insurance company changed. As soon as I know they have the paperwork, I will call daily if necessary. Of course, if they fail to respond within the 15 days, I should be able to get approval due to their lack of response. This whole thing drives me . WOW! You only have about 10 days to go, right? I bet you are excited, nervous and anxious all at once. I know I was until Aetna burst my bubble. Have a wonderful day!! Hiya Brenda, I had similar issues before my surgery. I have Aetna and I had to do the same thing regarding the supervised nutrition and exercise program. The only thing is I did NOT wait for my surgeon to do it. I had gotten copies of everything that was given to my surgeon and I faxed it over to Aetna myself and I got the approval within 2 days of my fax and had surgery within 3 weeks of that! If you need the fax number I can go through my papers and get you that -- just let me know! I hope it all works out quickly for you. God bless you and keep you, ~Andrea

Hi Andrea Thank you for your encouraging words and support. I would not have had a problem if my insurance had not been changed in the middle of the whole process. My hubby's employer failed to notify us that the insurance was due to change 1/1/05. Therefore, we did not get assigned to Aetna until 3/1/05. I have a wonderful surgeon and his staff is excellent. They will take care of everything. When I got approved by BC/BS, they received the fax and sent my approval letter on the same day!!! I will get copies of the new information, but just for my own information. Believe it or not, Aetna actually sent me their fax number in the denial letter, if I should need it!!!
