Im a 22 year old female, 5'5 230, my question is, what is the likely hood of my skin sagging really badly after surgery being that I am still young. I heard that the younger you are the better and more resilient your skin will be after surgery. Is this true? i know everyone is different but would anyone who was more or less in the same height/weight range as me pre-op share their story... im just really curious to know.

Hiya JT, I am 5' 2" and 38 years old. I started my journey at 223 lbs and I am now at 136 lbs (normal BMI yay me!! , lol) with a loss of 87 lbs. I have 13 lbs to lose to be at my goal of 123 which would make me a member of the century club with 100 lbs lost. I do not have a lot of skin sagging - I do have some, but not a lot like I have seen with some people who have lost 200 plus lbs. I have had saggy breasts since I got pregnant with my first daughter 13 years ago and my stomach is stretched and hangs because of my c-sections. I am sure there is excess skin there do to the weight loss but I do not think that the bulk of my mishappen body is due to that - I think it is mostly the pregnancies (I have 3 daughters). I know everyone's body is different. You will probably have SOME saggy skin but I dont think it will be anything significant where anyone but you would even realize it. God bless you and keep you, ~Andrea

I started wayyyyyyy above what you are and I have had an almost 200 lb weight loss.....and I have hanging skin allllllllllll over.....LOL BUT` I knew I would, even before my journey started. What once where breast are not 2 objects that are flat as flat and hang to my waist....lol Really not funny !! but it is kinda....because if I cant laugh about it, Ill cry....... Its all part of the process because of the rapid speed we lose at. I do hear that in some case, when you do have large amounts ( above 100 #) that when your lose slows down, your skin sometimes catches up !! Sooo maybe that will be something for you to hold on to. I wish you luck, and try to remember, its all part of this wonderful journey we have been given. Sometimes ya have to take some bad to get all the good !! Have A Great Day !! Brenny
