1 week post-op from Lap Banding

I finally had my surgery!!!!!!!I am excited, but these chest pains and gas are killing me. Sometime it feels like I am having a heart attack and it is really bad. I have had 2 EKG's post-operatively and 3 xrays/video esophogram (sic), and they tell me everything is fine. But, I am so uncomfortable and worried. Any relief suggestions ??

I can sympathize Jackie. I know all my nurses/doctor told me was to walk walk walk. I know I laid on my bed in a fetal position on my side and it did help me pass all the gas. I also took Mylecon drops, and had gasX in the reserves. But eventually it did go away. Good Luck. Eileen RNY 03/30/05 290/252 -38

Hi Jackie.. Congrats on your surgery!!! The only thing that helped my gas was GasX... and walk walk walk! TTFN Kathy
