Lisa,
For me, my surgeon asked me when I wanted to have the surgery. Well I said ASAP so he gave me the next appt or so. If you have something you need to work around I am sure they will try and work around it for you....just ask..
Hope you are doing well hun? How is it going for you?

Depending on your surgeon's staff, you may be able to suggest a date and they may do what they can to accomodate you - but I see in many cases, they select a date for you.
In my case, I got approval about 6-7 weeks before I actually WANTED to have the surgery. My surgeon's office suggested a much earlier date and I was allowed to turn that date down and ask for a day within a certain week and got it.
Good luck to you!
