Mt. Sinai and Dr. Herron???
Hi everyone,
I have an appt. to see Dr. Herron next week at Mt. Sinai. Does anyone have any experiences - good or bad - they'd like to advise me about? Also, any other doctor's you'd recommend besides the ones at Mt. Sinai?
Also, although according to Dr. Herron's office I was on the "light" side (BMI is 35) - they said I was still a candidate because of the co-morbidities I have. I have horrible asthma, high blood pressure, high blood sugar, GERD, back pain that required 1 yr. of physical therapy, etc..
Thanks, and I look forward to getting to know all of you as I embark on this journey.

Mt. Sinai is great. I have heard excellent things about Dr. Herron. I am currently seeing Dr. Kini ( he is great) there. The staff is great, especially Jennifer (nurse practitioner) and Amy (nutritionist). The staff was extremely informative and professional. I think you will be very comfortable and confident with your choice after you go for your consult there.
I have heard good things about him from a friend of mine that is a physician at Mt. Sinai. I chose to go to morristown memorial hospital in NJ. It is about 35 minutes from us down Route 287. I live in Rockland County by the way. I liked the doctors reputation and several other people had RNY there in the past. Who you are comfortable with is what counts. Ask how many surgeries they have performed. How many went from Lap to open during the surgeries and the mortality rate of thier patients. If you want the info for Morristown Email me and I will get you the info. Good luck on the start of your journey.
