Feeling Really Tired
Hi Everybody:
I am 11 days post op and I am extremely exhausted-just really lethargic and tired. I get up walk the dog, get my rest, take my vitamins and eat all the protein and drink all the water I'm supposed to. But I have absolutely no energy at all.
I've called my doctor's office and am awaiting for their call, but in the meantime, can any of you veteran post-ops give me some suggestions??
Thanks,
Karen

Hi Karen,
I don't know if I'm a veteran post-op but I am 6 months....
Sounds to me like your doing all that you should be....taking your vits, (make sure you have iron in there), drinking water, eating your protien.....And most importantly called your doc....
I think your body is just tired from what it went through...Surgery like ours is a major thing!!!! Give yourself some time and don't push yourself, everyone heals at a different pace....
Good luck and take care!!!

Karen, I am suprized by how good I feel but at how easily I get tired. I feel just great-no pain, no eating problems, even my loose stools have settled down nicely. But tired!!! I don't feel like doing much, yet I'm bored stiff! I almost wish I could go back to work, but I'd never make it through the day. Our bodies are recovering from a major trauma and it takes a while. I'm trying not to expect too much from myself. But those weeds in the garden are sticking out their little tongues at me-I'll get them sooner or later!
Good luck-
Becky Jean
