My surgery went well!

Hi...had my surgery on May 9th at Community General in Syracue, NY with DR. Jeffrey DeSimone. He is a wonderful man. I am only one week out today, still have 27 staples in my belly and a G-tube, but OK. I do have a lump or a bump on the left side right next to my incision/above my belly-button area. It huuuurts badly. I called the emergency # and spoke with another Dr. who was on call (it was Sunday, mine is not in office). He said it is probably blood or fluid and it should be fine, not to worry...my wonder is that he cannot see it, though, and he is not my surgeon. I am calling my own surgeon today, hopefully to reach him and talk directly to him. Anyone else have this happen? I was SO worried that it was the rest of my stomach bulging or something awful like that....I worry so much now. BUT I am up and walking around, going outside, doing small chores (I learned to use my toes to pick things up!), and resting quite a bit. BIT THING...rememebr to keep walking around! No blood clots for me, no siree! And keeping good to the diet. I did get jealous yesterday when hubby made dinner and I sipped my broth. But, I have to get used to the emotional changes that simply eating brings. In the end...I would not change a thing. Thank you everyone who sent me good lucks, well wishes, and such.

Haley, Congrats on your surgery hun.... I am glad you are feeling well. Yes please check with your own surgeon on that bump, better safe then sorry.... Keep up the good work and keep us posted hun..... Debra

Haley Congrats on your surgery.......make sure you get alot of rest......drink lots of waters......sipppp sippppp sipppppp...and I hope your road to recovery is a speedy one !!! If you need anything, drop me a line.....I am close by in Sterling !! Take Care Brenny

I am getting the water in good, but everything seems to be coming right back out the other end! I have had the "poos" since I got home. I just do not know how to keep my protein up. The nutritionalist wants me getting 60 mg a day...and I am thinking I am getting nothing because of the diahhrea.
