Life&Style show of New York??
Hey you New Yorkers, I from Alabama and I was on the Life&Style
show of New York. I'm trying to find out did they cancel that show or
what. I'm mad and I hope they did, cause I was promised my upper
body lift and didn't do it. The producer of the show responded to me
asking did I want to have the plastic surgery that I request. I applied
online and they called me back. To make a long story short, they flew
me in to the (spelling)Leguadia Airport and met with the limo driver and
it went from there. I stayed in Hotel Beacon on 75th Broadway and it
was so dirty! I thought New York(no offense) was all that in terms of
living richy and fabulous. I new this was a low budget show when I got
to my room. I was completly broke until they paid me my $50.00 a day
for being on the show. They took me shopping and gave me a spa
treatment. They turned on me when I got to the show and decided not
to do the surgery. I signed, I don't know how many papers and discussed
things with the doctor. The show said they decided to just do a makeover show, because the doctor (Dr. Hurwitz of Pittsburgh) backed
out. Don't you all think this is horrible! That was my first time visiting
New York and I really wanted to complete the surgery. I also wanted
to see Al Roker at the Today Show and I wanted to see Time Square.
You see a couple of my dreams were squashed. I hope to forfill them
soon. Please respond! Thanx!
Well, It sounds like you didnt have a great experience. NYC goes from one end of the spectrum to the other....very wealthy, and also poor. I hope you got to sight see a little, because the city can be a great experience. Maybe after seeing the hotel it's best you didnt have the surgery...
How did your makeover come out?

Sorry to hear that the show renegged on the surgery. It seems that a show that would promise you a reconstructive surgery would make sure BEFORE THEY SENT YOU ANYWHERE that you were a good candidate, that you were in good health, that you realized the risks and that the surgery was contractually on-board with everything.
This was tacky and not done well at all but all in all, if they were not on-point about what they were doing, it's best that you didn't go all the way with this and end up in an even worse situation.
Regarding the hotel you stayed in. Listen, every city in every state has nice, not-so-nice, and horrendous places to stay, eat, be entertained, etc. This show was hardly a top-notch, big-budget production, so just because they waved "New York" at you does not mean you would be staying at the Waldorf, Park Regency or the Four Seasons.
Another thing - how could you leave Alabama and come to New York with no pocket money? I don't even go a few miles from home without money to get back home. I could never imagine relying on some TV show to front everything for me without having my own. *shrug* Maybe that's the "New York" in me.
Well, I'm sorry your visit was not all that you envisioned. If you ever do get a chance to revisit the city, I'd suggest having your own money, contacting a New Yorker who could help direct you as far as sight seeing and touring, and don't just the whole Apple by just one bite.
I hope the makeover went well for you, at least.
