I'm trying to purchase things that I will need after surgery. Can anyone give me some reccommendations? Also if you all can reccommend some names of protein drinks that are really good. Thanks all.

HI, Christine, congratulations on your upcoming surgery! I pray that your surgeon's hands would be annointed and your recovery speedy. As a recent surgery recoverer, let me share a few things I could not have been without the last few days. Nice loose-fitting moomoo's or nighties were a big help. Usually I wear pajamas, but I didn't like the pressure of the waistband on the incision. If you don't have a reclining chair, a wedge pillow would be great for the first week or so to sleep on. I found that my head needed to be elevated to take the stretch off the incision area. You can prop yourself up in bed with pillows, too. I thought I would need a long-handled bath brush to reach the areas that are hard to take care of after surgery, I bought one, but I never used it. I was able to take care of business pretty well. Also, adult strength liquid Tylenol was a God-send when I didn't think it was bad enough for a lortab. It worked very well for me. My very favorite protein drinks are ProV 60, melted chocolate ice cream and melted vanilla ice cream. I mix the chocolate with a teaspoon of instant decaf coffee and a sprinkle of cinnamon every morning. It is very yummy! I also like the syntrac Nectar drinks. They aren't milky like the others and can be mixed with crystal light for a nice thing to sip on all day long. Don't forget your sugarfree popsicles! Hope this helps some! Becky Jean 263/245/140ish

Thank you so much. Since posting my message, you're the only one that has responded. I just went out and purchased some house coats and hugh PJ's. I was thinking about buying a recliner but didn't really want to spend $300-$400 right now. Thanks for the tip on the wedge pillow.

You're welcome! You can get the wedge pillow at a medical supply store. My hubby bought the biggest wedge for me, but it was toooo wedgie (LOL) and I wish he had bought the smallest (shortest?)lift wedge. Good luck! Becky Jean
