bowel prep HELP

ugghhhh for some reason I am dreading this... I have to do this on Monday at 3 pm.. then clear fluids till midnight... just wondering... what to eat prior to 3 pm.. i don't want this to be horrible!!! Thanks for the help as always! Marla

Marla, I am sorry hun i do not have a answer for you, I only have to be on clear liquids the day before surgery but I wanted to wish you the very best and I will keep you in my prayers hun.... Take care Debra P

Hi Marla... I was prescribed 2 pills to take the night prior to my surgery. It was to help evacuate my bowels before surgery. What is your Dr doing for yours? Jalonda 371/254/160?

I have to take a fleets phosphosoda at 3:00 then clear liquids until midnight. I would love for it to be pills instead.. but o well... what can you do. Thanks again for your help Marla

I had to take the same prep before surgery. I have just 2 bits of advice 1) drink lots of water after it because it tastes terrible 2) Stay very very very close to a bathroom for the rest of the day. Eileen

Thanks Eileen! So did you eat anything that morning? any suggestions on what to eat? My sister is a nurse and she said to drink the prep with gingerale instead of water. How are you doing? I was not allowed anything but clear liquids the day before surgery. Jello not red, clear broth, water crystal light was about it. Oh yea stock up on sugar free ice pops. They we my best friend before and after surgery just again before the surgery don't eat the red ones. I am back to work and down now 42 lbs. in 7 weeks. My uniforms are falling off of me. The joke now is I can fit someone else in my shirts LOL. Good luck and give me a call either before or after the surgery it helps to have someone near by for support. Eileen
