I am now 8 months post-op and I have been very sucessful with the surgery this far and I'm just about 7lbs away from my goal. My question is I can definatly eat a lot more now and I'm worried I might eat to much and strech my pouch I can eat a whole plate of salad no problem and a whole grapfruit right after isn't that to much food I'm making the right food choices but I'm still worried. I hope someone can . Thanks in advance for your responses. Elizabeth 9/8/05 251-147

hi liz i am just about 6 months out and am having the same concerns. i am not sure what the answer is but i am going to my support group meeting tonight and am going to ask about it. i know that we do stretch our pouches to a certain degree, but even if it is salad we are eating i am also afraid it may be stretching too much. (i can eat an average size salad at home with a grilled chicken tenderloin and feel fine.) ultimately, i am afraid that in years to come if i made the wrong food choice that i could actually eat the "bad" food and not get sick and gain the weight back... i think that our daily decisions to eat the right food will keep us on track. you are eating properly so i wouldn't be concerned. you look awesome! keep up the great job!!! i'll email you after my meeting tonight to let you know what the others in my group said... muah! shea

Hi Liz: You look fabulous girl! As far as fearing you are eating too much....if it were me, I would probably start by calling my nutritionist and maybe consult with her. I understand the fear of stretching the pouch...I am sure I will be dealing with that in the coming months..Give your nutritionist a ring....I'm pretty sure she'll give u some good advice. Take Care...and thanks for getting back to me. Cathy surgery date is 6/10/05 with Dr. Dakin at Cornell-NY Presbyterian
