I went there nervous, I don't really know why I was so nervous, but I was. The first person I met with was a sweet young lady who just took my information for billing purposes. Then next I met Laura who was very cool, Joking around with me and stuff. Next I met Diana, she is all business but was also very nice to me. All these people basically took information from me and entered it into what looked like an amazing database at Weil Cornell Medical center at NYPH. FINALLY I get to meet Dr. Pomp, who doesn't sugar coat anything at all. Dr. Pomp is a very confident surgeon who who know what he's talking about which then instills confidence in you. I can tell that he cares, He assured me that he's be with me from the beginning of the surgery till when I wake up. Dr. pomp apparently is and artist and a jokester. He's sitting there Drawing out the whole procedure on a blank piece of paper to make sure you grasp it. All along he's there making Jokes and lightening the mood. I love that he sat there and answered all of my questions and didn't rush me off like we were in an assembly line. At the end I met with Evelyn who helped me schedule all the rest of my tests to get me closer to my BIG DAY!!! I AM SO EXCITED!!!!!! I CAN'T WAIT TO BE A BIG LOSER!!!

Enzo: You're in great hands. I had my surgery in Feb and Dr. Pomp was great. No problems. Just one additional thought. You might want to ask him about the duodenal switch (it's the other weight loss surgery he does). You can read some of the profiles on duodenalswitch.com, google duodenal switch, and come over to the obesityhelp duodenal switch message board (upper left corner of the main page). I started talking to him about RNY and ended up with DS, because it has the best long-term weight loss statistics and allows a little bit easier quality of life. It's worth looking into. Both surgeries have their pluses and minuses, but I'm loving my DS so far. Congrats on picking a great surgeon and a great hospital. Take care. Nancy
