Im new to the board but have been reading your posts for quite some time now, and have responded to just a few. I am 2 weeks post op today (22 pounds lost) , and I have a few questions that someone can maybe give me some insight: I am always thirsty....My mouth is ALWAYS DRY! So, I would rather drink all day then eat the pureed food, ie mashed potatoes. Any Suggestions? Im always tired, and I think this is due to lack of nutrition...but I take a multi vitamin 2 times a day. I feel like there is a lump in my throat at times, and then I belch and it goes away. I started taking Chewable Gas X and it helps a little bit. I am also on Pepcid 2 times a day. Has anyone experienced this? Last, Yesterday I think I had some sugar in a drink that I had, it was not supposed to have sugar but I think it did, and I felt Nauseous for the first time. But I didnt vomit. At times I feel , especially since Im so tired all the time. But my boyfriend keeps telling me it will take time, and I need to realize I have no control over this and let your body have the time to heal.

Hi there Sweetie pie Welcome to the NY board and to the losing side.... ok now you know there is no subsitute for food you must eat your foods that is the key to your weight loss....the dry mouth is normal and will go away and then come back from time to time, get in your water but do not give up your food ...that can cause your body to go in to a starvation mode and you will not have good result with the weight loss... Can you drink protien drinks now that will help you get in your protien....I use champion pure whey it taste good and has no after taste..... As for the sugar, if your not sure if it is sugar free than don't drink it dumping syndrme is not just vomiting it can be the sick feeling you had it could be the shakes, dizziness, and flem, so these are some of the symtoms so please be careful with the sugar... As for being tired it will take time your body has gone through major changes and your boyfriends is right, and I don't like to agree with men so just rest little by little you will get your energy levels up... One more thing Congratulations 22 lbs you are doing great keep up the good work and keep us posted on how you are doing and what you are feeling and any question you may have for us... Wishing you the best through out your journey to a healthier and happier lifestyle... Christine

Thanks for the great response.... I try to drink the Carnation Instant Breakfast because they are high in Vitamins and Protein but I feel so thirsty afterwards. So I have been having a spoonful of pudding every now and then. I do not eat my meals on a normal schedule. I have an appointment with my Doctor on Thursday and Im going to see if this is ok. Do you know of any support groups in the Brooklyn area?
